It was made official this afternoon - Isco Alarcón has joined Sevilla on a two-year deal. Details of the kind of the salary that the former Real Madrid star will receive are beginning to filter out. He joins Julen Lopetegui’s team as a free agent and so there is no transfer fee for Sevilla to pay. So in theory, Isco should be paid a decent wage over the next 12 months. How much he will actually take home however, depends on who you talk to...

The word from the club is that Isco will receive a fixed salary that is five times less than what he was earning at Real Madrid. That suggests that the player will take home just over one million euros net in each of his two seasons at the Sánchez Pizjuán.

Bonus payments

However, Isco’s contract also includes a significant number of variables and fixed objectives, which, if fulfilled in their entirety, could boost the Málaga-born midfielder’s salary up to five million euros. So is he and the team are successful in reaching their objectives, Isco could pocket 10 million euros for two seasons.
