Jenni Hermoso has returned to her natural state - the state of happiness, the state of scoring goals. The Spanish forward, who became a household name following the non-consensual kiss at the Women’s World Cup, was a prominent figure in this round of fixtures, as she scored one of the goals in Pachuca’s resounding victory over Leon.

This marked her second goal since her return following the tournament in Australia and New Zealand. While the Madrid native had appeared in matches at the beginning of the season, she hadn’t been in a starring role. In the September fixtures, she had only seen limited minutes. However, in the latest match against América, she was in the starting lineup and scored the opening goal in the comeback against their arch-rivals.

On Sunday evening, against León, Hermoso played an active role in the 6-0 drubbing, scoring a powerful left-footed shot after dribbling past defenders with a beautiful cut inside the box. The best version of Jenni seems to have returned.

Will Hermosa be called up for Spain?

In a few days, Montse Tomé's new list of call-ups for the October international window will be revealed. One of the mysteries will be whether Hermoso will be included, as she was not called up in September, with the explanation being that they wanted to “protect her.” This decision was something that the Spanish international did not understand and questioned on her social media. Now, we await the outcome.

Olympic dreams for Hermoso

With Jenni back in good form at Pachuca, she could be of great help to La Roja in the matches against Italy and Switzerland, which are of vital importance in the Nations League.

With Hermoso, goals are always within reach, and Spain’s ticket to the Olympics becomes more achievable. The World Cup Champion dreams of participating in the Olympic event, something she has never experienced before.
