Julio González: “I’m convinced that we will come away with the three points on Saturday”
Pumas goalkeeper Julio González has spoken ahead of the clash with Club América on Saturday.
It’s getting closer to the 148th edition of the Clásico Capitalino, a match full of tradition and emotion that allows two of the country’s biggest teams to go head-to-head.
On the eve of the matchday 10 fixture, Pumas goalkeeper Julio González didn’t hold anything back and admitted that he didn’t feel intimidated by Club América.
“I don’t think anyone can intimidate you if you are a professional footballer and you dedicate yourself to this, he said.
“América have great players, but we also have a good squad and great players. I think that we are looking better and better.”
Pumas keeper confident
“I’m convinced that it will be a great spectacle on Saturday and that we’ll come away with the three points,” he added.
“I’ve been through it all, I’ve had to play, I’ve been benched, but now that I have this consistency and this confidence to do what I like to do most, I think I’m showing the best version of myself. I can still improve, I work every day to improve; I’m not at my best yet, but I think I can improve every day.
“I have already played several games against América and the truth is that in most of them, I have played well. One game can really change your career, but with América I’ve had several and I’ve done well.”
