Just a few years ago, Chucky Lozano was valued at $60 million. As LA Galaxy open the door, the Mexican gem’s remarkable depreciation is clear

Hirving Lozano has a new team in MLS. After several weeks of rumors, Chucky has been handed an opportunity by the LA Galaxy, where he will look to get his career moving again. Unfortunately for the Mexican, the California club appears to represent one of his last major chances, with his inactivity and declining form causing his value to fall considerably.

The Mexican international, who became a national hero on June 17, 2018, when he scored the winning goal for El Tri against Germany at the World Cup, has suffered a remarkable drop in value in a relatively short period.

In 2017, Pachuca, his first club in Mexico, sold him to PSV for around $11.6 million. When the Dutch club subsequently sold him to Napoli, the Mexico City native commanded a fee of just over $46 million.

At one point in 2021, Lozano was valued at close to $60 million, but his lack of regular playing time with the Italian club caused that figure to steadily decline. He was eventually sold to San Diego FC for just under $14 million.

Now, following his move to the Galaxy, Chucky’s value has fallen by another roughly $10.5 million, meaning the Los Angeles club paid only around $4 million for him.

How many games has Chucky Lozano played and how many goals has he scored?

Across his career, Lozano has made 478 appearances, including league games, international competitions and domestic cups.

Over those nearly 500 games, Chucky has scored 185 goals and provided 86 assists.
