América are trying to finalise what would be one of the most important signings of the summer with the transfer of Kevin Álvarez. However, the player himself chose not talk about the deal and instead decided to focus on the Mexican National Team. Despite multiple reports that the Pachuca player is already an Águila, the Tuzos youth player assured he will leave everything to his agent.

In words for TUDN, Kevin Álvarez preferred not to talk too much regarding a possible move to América, instead preferring to talk about the Mexican National Team, where he scored the equalising goal against Cameroon. The full-back assured that everything is in the hands of the manager, although he did not hide his enthusiasm for wearing the famous América shirt.

Álvarez admits it would be ‘exciting’ to play for América

I try to focus on the National Team and everything that comes out I leave it to my representative; I let him take care of everything and when I get back to see what happens. Yes, of course it would be exciting [playing for America], it would be a great opportunity and now it’s time to be focused here and see what happens when we get back,” he said.

Regarding his performance against Cameroon, in which he scored his first goal for Mexico, Álvarez commented: “Yes, I’m very happy, trying to do my best and contribute to the team. More than anything in terms of spirit, it is important to keep going without losing. It was good to score, it was something nice, it was a very emotional goal, my first for the National Team and I enjoyed it”.
