LAFC vs Inter Miami ticket prices: How much to watch Lionel Messi?
Lionel Messi and co. head to Los Angeles to take on the MLS Cup holders at BMO Stadium.
Lionel Messi took his MLS bow on Saturday, coming off the bench to score the second goal in a 2-0 win against the New York Red Bulls.
The Argentine star featured in the Leagues Cup in his first month in the United States but Inter Miami now turn their attention to domestic matters. On Wednesday, 31 August Miami host Nashville SC at DRV PNK Stadium, before a trip to Los Angeles.
Inter Miami will take on MLS Cup holders LAFC in one of the most hotly-anticipated fixtures of the season. The arrival of Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba has completely changed Miami’s fortunes, but LAFC remain one of the most talented sides in the league.
Unsurprisingly, ticket prices for the match have soared.
How much are tickets for LAFC vs Inter Miami?
Tickets for the clash at the 22,000-capacity BMO Stadium sold out long ago, but it is still possible to buy verified resale tickets through sites like Ticketmaster.
At time of writing, the cheapest ticket available to purchase is a $540 option in the Supporters’ Section. That aside, all other available tickets are currently priced at more than $600. Many cost more than $1,000 for a single regular season fixture.
These prices are more than twice that of tickets to see Inter Miami take on Nashville on Wednesday evening. Tickets for Lionel Messi’s first MLS fixture on home turf are currently available for $220.
Messi’s commercial pull triples Inter Miami revenue
With 11 goals in his first eight games with Miami, Lionel Messi has certainly lived up to expectations on the pitch. The Argentine World Cup winner is proving just as successive off the field too, as Miami’s commercial surge demonstrates.
Inter Miami’s revenue is expected to soar to more than $200 million this year, three times what was initially predicted. By the end of 2023 Miami could be one of the most valuable soccer teams in North or South America.
There is hope that the astonishing interest in Messi’s progress in MLS could allow the league to quickly make up ground on the top European leagues. Speaking last month, Miami co-owner Jorge Mas outlined the potential that Messi’s arrival brings to the league.
“I think that it’s incumbent upon myself and my partners in Major League Soccer and fellow owners to seize the moment that we have ahead of us to hopefully elevate Major League Soccer over the course of the next three to five years to compete with the Premier League,” he said.
