Leeds vs Manchester City: how to watch, online and on TV

All the information on how and where to watch the Week 34 Premier League game between Leeds United and Manchester City at Elland Road on 30 April.

Two teams at polar ends of the Premier League table and with very different objectives as the competition nears its climax go head-to-head this weekend. Hosts Leeds United are battling to remain in the category. After returning to the top flight under Marcelo Bielsa in 2020, Leeds are now fighting for their lives - five points above the relegation zone in 16th with five games left to play.

The first of which is against the team at the other end of the table. Manchester City are top and aiming to defend the title, but they have their lead couldn’t be slimmer - just one point ahead of a Liverpool side with the bit between their teeth. Neither Leeds nor City can afford to drop any points between now and 22 May.

Jesse Marsch’s Leeds have pulled clear of the drop zone after stringing together a run of results in recent weeks - wins against Aston Villa, Norwich, Wolves and Watford plus draws against Southampton and Crystal Palace have boosted their survival chances. But after taking on City, they face two tough matches against Arsenal and Chelsea...

The next few days will be equally as hectic for Pep Guardiola’s side - they narrowly beat Real Madrid 4-3 in the first leg of Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final but have to defend that lead when they travel to the Bernabéu on Wednesday. On the domestic front, City’s run-in looks relatively straightforward, on paper at least - Leeds, followed by Newcastle, Wolves, West Ham and Villa.

Leeds vs Manchester City: team news

On Thursday, Jesse Marsch confirmed that several of his first team players remain out with various injuries - Jamie Shackleton has been struggling to shake off an Achilles injury, Crysencio Summerville is out for what remains of the season after twisting his ankle, while Patrick Bamford, Adam Forshaw and Tyler Roberts are making progress with their respective injuries but won’t be involved against City.

As for Guardiola’s team, Kyle Walker and John Stones are both ruled out. Speaking on the eve of the game, the City boss said, “It’s tough because Leeds are a tough team. The crowd, they are fighting for points. We need points. We know it. The people feel it. The players trained today with incredible focus; I think everybody at the club knows what we’re playing for and what they have to do. Our last three games were incredible, we scored a lot of goals and that’s what we must continue to do. In football sometimes you get rewards, and sometimes you must accept defeats”.
