Rumors have been swirling about Robert Lewandowski potentially deciding to go on strike when he got back from his holidays as he pursues a move away from Bayern Munich, but the club’s refusal (which seems to be weakening with every day that passes) to open the door for him to leave for FC Barcelona did not prevent the striker from fulfilling his commitments this Tuesday as if he were just another squad player. As of now, Lewy is under the orders of coach Julian Nagelsmann, though things could change at any moment given the tense situation.

Lewandowski undergoes preseason medical

Just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Lewandowski arrived by car at the Barmherzige Brüder hospital in Munich to undergo medical tests before starting the preseason on the pitch at Bayern’s training facilities. So far everything points to Lewandowski starting the preseason with the Bundesliga champions who head to the US next Monday for a one-week stay in Washington. According to German media, the club intends to resolve the situation before the trip.

No more offers for Lewandowski

According to German outlet Bild, Bayern have not have received any further offers for the player. The newspaper said rumors about a new (and final) push for the player from Barcelona were false and reported that Bayern have heard nothing more from the Catalan giants. What is clear is that Lewy, now back in Munich, is not looking for any more trouble and is going to patiently wait for the soap opera to be resolved in his favor, despite the fact that the situation is making the entire Munich squad uncomfortable.

Death threats for Lewandowski

According to Polish newspaper WP SportoweFakty Lewandowski returned to Munich without his family because he received death threats on social media in the past few weeks. His wife and children will not return to Germany as a precaution until his future is resolved.
