Lewandowski moves to MLS: all the details
The Polish striker has finally committed to the MLS club, rejecting the other offers on the table.
Robert Lewandowski will cross the “pond” and play in MLS next season. According to Sky, the Polish striker will spend the next two years with Chicago Fire FC. The same report claims that the deal could become official within hours, with only the final clauses of the contract still needing to be finalised.
With this move, Lewandowski ends the uncertainty surrounding his future, despite having received several multimillion-dollar offers, particularly from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
It should be noted that the forward will arrive on a free transfer, meaning Chicago only needed to reach an agreement with the player. In fact, Lewandowski travelled to Chicago a few weeks ago to learn more about the club and finalise his move to the “Windy City”.
Next season, two of the best strikers to have worn the blaugrana shirt in recent decades will therefore cross paths: Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi. Both Chicago Fire FC and Inter Miami CF compete in the Eastern Conference. At the halfway point of the season, Inter Miami sit second in the standings with 31 points, while Chicago are third on 26, five points behind, with Nashville SC leading the table on 33 points.
