Liga MX Apertura 2023 pulls in more than 30M television viewers to date

The week 8 Clasico Nacional between América and Chivas Guadalajara has drawn the highest television audience of the season to date.

104 matches have been now played in the 2023 Liga MX Apertura season with more than 31 million people tuning in to watch. The sixth week of action was the matchday with the highest television audience with more than 12 million tuning in.

The most watched match of the season to date has been the Clásico Nacional between Club América and Chivas on Saturday 16 September at the Azteca Stadium as part of matchday 8. The game which ended 4-0 to the side from the capital had an audience reach of 4.09 million viewers with the game with the match being broadcast on free-to-air TV.

The second ranked game in terms of audience was the recent Clásico Tapatío as Chivas Guadalajara faced city rivals Atlas on matchday 12 at the Estadio Akron on Saturday, 7 October with the game securing more than 3.5 million viewers with the podium being completed by the matchday Clásico Capitalino between América and Pumas at the Estadio Azteca. The derby was watched by 3.349 million viewers on television.
