Liga MX Clausura 2023 complete schedule: dates of the regular season and playoffs
With the Clausura competition getting underway on the first Friday in January at the Estadio Victoria, we look further ahead.
Are you ready for the Liga MX Clausura 2023 tournament? Well, it’s coming whether you are or not so let’s get our calendars out (almost certainly a digital version for the majority of you) and mark down all the important fixtures over the coming months. It all begins on Friday 6 January.
Liga MX Clausura 2023
First up for us in the 2023 Clausura is the game at the Estadio Victoria in Aguascalientes, where Necaxa (in their centenary year) host Atlético San Luis. Pachuca, the current Mexican champions, begin the defence on Monday 9 January, when they host Puebla at the Estadio Hidalgo, bringing matchday 1 to a close.
As for Liga MX’s ‘big four’, Club América will start their season at home against Querétaro, while Pumas will face FC Juárez at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario. Chivas Guadalajara’s first game of the season will see them visit Monterrey at the Estadio BBVA, while Cruz Azul will go to Tijuana to face Xolos.

The full list of Clausura 2023 games
The 17 matchdays of action run from 6 January through to 30 April. The final phase, aka the playoffs, takes place between 6 and 28 May. The two-legged league final will be on Thursday 25 May and Sunday 28 May. You can find every game, time, location and broadcaster via the official Liga BBVA publication.
Note that there is a break for internationals at the end of March, and there is also the CONCACAF Champions League, which will run from 7 March to 4 June).
