Liga MX reveals the Clausura 2024 calendar: here are the dates

Club América were crowned Apertura 2023 champions after beating Tigres 3-0 (4-1 agg.) in a crazy game that had everything a fan of the azulcremas could have asked for. La Águilas fought well against Tigres and ultimately they had too much for them at the Estadio Azteca, the venue packed with fans who ended up watching their side lift their 14th title.

Mikel Arreola, president of Liga MX, took advantage of the moment ahead of the Apertura 2023 final to announce the calendar for the upcoming Clausura 2024 tournament, which will begin on January 12 and end on Sunday, May 26.

On the first fixture date, Cruz Azul will host Pachuca and reigning champions América will travel to the border to face Xolos de Tijuana; Pumas will have the visit of FC Juárez and Chivas will go up against Santos Laguna.

Important calendar dates for 2024

The biggest game of the season were also revealed: on match day 8, Chivas will host Pumas on February 24, the same day on which América and Cruz Azul will face each other. The Clásico Nacional will be played on match day 12 on March 16, with Chivas the home side against América. On April 13, Monterrey will face Tigres in the Clásico Regio. The Tapatío derby, Chivas vs. Atlas, will take place on April 27.

When are the FIFA international breaks?

The traditional post-new year FIFA break will take plave from March 18 to 28, when the Mexican national team will face Panama on March 21 in the semi-finals of the Nations League.

Play-in Apertura 2024 and Final

The play-in matches introduced by Liga MX for the Apertura 2023 will take place from May 2 to 5. The final will be played between May 23 and 26.
