Luis Chávez buys himself out of his Pachuca contract to push through Dynamo Moscow deal

In an unexpected twist, the Mexican midfielder has taken matters into his own hands and decided to buy himself out of his Pachuca contract.

The conclusion of the soap opera between Luis Chávez and the Pachuca has finally arrived. The Mexican midfielder will, in a shock move, pay his own release clause, becoming a free agent and is now able to sign for the club of his choice.

Due to the problems that Russian clubs have, including Dynamo Moscow, the team thought of as the preferred destination of the midfielder, international transfers are not guaranteed due to guidelines given from the banks. It is this reason that Chavez’s now ex-side did not give the green light to continue with the operation of selling him to Europe. What was not expected was for the player to turn the key in the motor and decide to drive away himself.

‘The offer from Russian football is not viable’

Pachuca released a statement: “For us, it was a priority to push the legitimate dream of Luis Chávez to play in Europe, we lament the fact that the offer from Russian football is not viable.

“Our desire is for Luis to fulfil his own wishes, so, in serious detriment to our income from any transfer, Grupo Pachuca will accept the payment of the release clause from the player, so that he can negotiate his future in absolute freedom and under his own responsibility, with whoever he decides... we trust that Luis knows what’s best for himself.”

How much did Chávez pay?

This statement puts an end to Chávez’s time at Pachuca; the club had thought about proposing a huge economic offer to the Mexican national team midfielder yet Chávez has decided to press on with a more lucrative economic proposal. His release clause, while not fully public, is believed to be somewhere in the region of $6 million.

Chávez, as the statement mentions, is doing his best to fulfil his European dream and will sign with the club from the Russian capital in the coming days.
