Luis Suárez highlights Inter Miami’s obligation
The Uruguayan forward spoke after his team’s passage to the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals, sharing the demands on them.
Inter Miami secured passage to the next stage of the CONCACAF Champions Cup after convincingly defeating Nashville at the Chase Stadium. Now, the quarter-finals await the Herons, who will find out their next opponent emerging from the clash between Monterrey and Cincinnati on Thursday.
Following their qualification to the round of the tournament’s final eight teams, satisfaction at having achieved this feat was palpable within the Miami squad. However, they are keenly aware that their objective is yet to be fully realised.
Suárez says Miami ready for anyone
In post-match statements, the recently acquired Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez spoke on behalf of the team, asserting their readiness no matter who comes next.
“We are prepared to face any opponent because this competition demands just that – to compete against all adversaries with the mindset of ambition and a desire to win. That determination can propel us far,” stated the former Barcelona, Liverpool and Ajax forward.
Inter Miami pressure to win the tournament
Similarly, Suárez spoke about the commitment and determination within the squad to pursue winning the title of this international tournament.
“We have an obligation [to win] because we must be ambitious and committed. For that reason, we are clear on our objectives: with the competitions we participate in, we must strive to win,” Suárez added.
