Manchester City are already moving towards next season: the English team are already planning for the upcoming campaign and are clear that they want to strengthen in midfield. Kalvin Phillips is yet to settle into Guardiola’s team and both Gundogan and Bernardo Silva could be on their way out of the club, meaning the Manchester side will see something of an overhaul in the middle of the park for next season.

Bellingham is the dream and the signing that would undoubtedly cost the most in terms of the financial package, but he is not the only player on the agenda, as multiple exits could signal multiple incomings for a team that is not short on cash.

City are negotiating with Kovacic about a move

According to Bosnian outlet N1, Kovacic’s agents have been in London negotiating with City regarding his a potential move to Guardiola’s team next season, as the Spanish coach is keen on getting the Croatian to join. More meetings are expected to take place over the next few weeks, but it seems both parties are keen on the idea.

Chelsea are preparing a clear-out this summer, as the club currently has 30 players in the squad, plus those returning on loan and some who have already signed, such as Nkunku. The Croatian midfielder only has one year left on his contract, so his signing would not mean a large outlay for City and he would be one of the players Chelsea would be willing to let go.

If the negotiations go as expected, the ex-madridista will be under Guardiola’s orders next season. The Spanish coach believes that the player’s energy and skillset in midfield would bring what he needs in his team for the upcoming campaign. City are looking to the future and Kovacic is set to be signing number one.
