First 6-3 defeat for United since 1996
Today is only the sixth time in Manchester United history that they have lost 6-3 and the first time since they lost to Southampton away by the same scoreline in October 1996.
Guardiola: United were better in second half
City run riot
The home side led 4-0 at half-time and at that stage it was damage limitation for United. They added two more in the second half to make it 6-1 before United got two more late on. Arsenal will be looking over their shoulders. Grealish, Foden and Haaland were all superb.
Nine goals in derby
It could have been even worse for United on Sunday. Martial came off the bench to score a late brace as Guardiola emptied his own bench.

Martial nods him from close range, a consolation for United.
Erling Haaland has the same number of Premier League hat-tricks as Cristiano Ronaldo, who we won't see today. He doesn't seem to be a major part of Ten Hag's plans.
Ten Hag has just won the Manager of the Month award for September but now questions will be asked of him once again. City have been unplayable.
And if you're a Fantasy football lover, Haaland has three goals and two assists today.

Before the pause to their league campaign, United had bounced back from a sorry start to the season to win four on the spin, a run that has lifted them to fifth in the table ahead of matchday nine.
In their most recent top-flight outing, on 6 September, Ten Hag’s men beat the Gunners 3-1 at Old Trafford, Marcus Rashford hitting a double to down the early-season pacesetters. Four days later, United’s euphoria was somewhat dampened by a home Europa League defeat to Real Sociedad, although they returned to winning ways just before the international break by beating Sheriff Tiraspol in Europe, Cristiano Ronaldo scoring his first goal of the season.
As United prepare to face City and Erling Haaland, Erik ten Hag and Lisandro Martínez know they have previous experience of keeping the Norwegian out.
City players arrive
Kickoff at the Etihad is less than an hour away!
Wayne Rooney is United’s all-time top goal scorer and also the highest goalscorer in the history of the Manchester derby.
In the rivalry between the two sides, the Liverpool-born forward scored 11 goals, including his memorable overhead kick at Old Trafford. Ryan Giggs is the most capped player in the derby’s history with 36 appearances.
Rodri out
City's midfield three this afternoon is Gundogan, De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

Man Utd XI
Erik ten Hag has named the following eleven for his side's short trip to the Etihad.
Scott McTominay keeps his place in central midfield. Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro start on the bench for United.
Man City XI
Pep Guardiola has gone with the following side for the Manchester derby.
Erling Haaland leads the line, while Ilkay Gundogan captains the home side.
Haaland: Pep is crazy about football
Speaking to Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville ahead of the game, the former Manchester United defender asked how often Erling Haaland is surprised by how Guardiola perceives football.
"For example, the day before a game he tells us what's going to happen and then the next day, exactly that happens. It's crazy, sometimes I don't understand how it's possible, but he's crazy into football - a football-holic, if you can call it that. It's crazy.
"I'm a striker so I want to be in the box as much as possible. I don't want to go out on the side - what should I do there? We have other players doing that, so this is a logical thing."
United make short trip to Etihad
The international break may have arrived at the wrong time for United, who were finding momentum under manager Erik ten Hag.
On Friday, the Dutch coach picked up the Manager of the Month award for September.
Ten Hag has managed to steady the ship at Old Trafford after a poor start to the season, with back-to-back defeats against Brighton and Bournemouth.
“I played many derbies and I know what derbies, what they are,” Ten Hag explained in Friday’s press conference.
“With rivals, what they do with each other, I think, and I know, it’s the most important game in the Manchester area for the fans. It excites me.
“You want to be involved in these games, because it gives a good vibe, it gives so much energy. You do everything to win that game.”
Since the early season defeats, United have gone on to record four wins on the bounce and will be hoping to make it five at the Etihad on Sunday.
Manchester derby 188
Today is the 188th Manchester derby between City and United and United come out on top with 77 wins.
The City camp
Manchester City take on Manchester United in the Manchester derby. Pep Guardiola’s side are currently second in the league, four points off leaders Arsenal.
City will be without key defender John Stones after he was forced off with what appeared to be a hamstring injury while playing for England against Germany during the international break.
Guardiola told reporters on Friday: “He is injured. He will be back when he is ready. I don’t know when he will come back but I think maybe 10 days, two weeks.”
City eased past United in last season’s Premier League fixtures and could beat them three times in a row for the first time since 2014.
