At the end of the year, Maxi Meza’s contract with Rayados comes to an end, but in the last few hours, it has emerged that he will remain at the Mexican club. Journalist César Luis Merlo of Súper Deportivo reports that he will renew his contract for another year, that is to say until December 2024.

Monterrey have yet to make everything official, and although both parties have reached an agreement, they have not yet sat down to sign the paperwork.

Recently, Meza reached 200 games with Rayados, making him the fourth player for the most appearances in the current squad behind Jesus Gallardo, Stefan Medina and Rogelio Funes Mori.

Meza is well respected within the club, who see him as a leader. In the club’s last game, he wore the captain’s armband after Héctor Moreno picked up an injury.
