Mbappé is ready: Real Madrid injury report for Bayern Munich second leg
After defeat in the first leg, Real Madrid are preparing for a comeback attempt in Munich, where they face Bayern in a Champions League quarterfinal a decider.
Good news out of Valdebebas. Real Madrid trained without any major new issues at the club’s training complex on Monday, with Kylian Mbappé working at full speed despite the elbow he took in Friday’s draw with Girona. The blow from defender Vítor Reis - which should have resulted in a penalty but went unpunished by both the referee and VAR - prevented Mbappé from training normally on Sunday. On Monday, however, he was back without any limitations.
Mbappé set for Munich
Mbappé trained wearing a protective dressing covering the three stitches required to close the cut caused by the impact. Because it was a minor wound, there has been no need to make a protective mask for the Frenchman. A simple bandage will suffice, and he is expected to be ready for Wednesday’s comeback attempt against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, following Madrid’s 2-1 loss in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal.
Who is injured for Real Madrid right now?
The only absentees were Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo Goes, both ruled out of the tie as they continue to recover from their respective injuries. The Belgian goalkeeper is making progress, but a return before May remains unlikely. Aurélien Tchouaméni was also missing, though not due to injury: he focused on physiotherapy and conditioning work, taking advantage of the fact that he is suspended and will not feature in Munich. He will be fully available for the next LaLiga fixture.
