Real Madrid gear up for return to LaLiga action
The training match against Los Azulones is part of Madrid’s preparations for the resumption of their season on 30 December, when they take on Real Valladolid in a week-15 league clash at the Estadio José Zorrilla. Last week, Carlo Ancelotti’s men took on Leganés in a warm-up, the sides drawing 1-1.
Curiously, Madrid and Getafe will learn their Copa del Rey last-32 opponents while they are playing on Friday, as their match coincides with the cup draw. (You’ll be able to follow live-text coverage of the draw with AS USA.)

Mendy, who was left out of France’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar, has been training individually in recent days, a minor muscle issue confining the left-back to the gym at Madrid’s Valdebebas sports complex.
