Cristiano Ronaldo has been the focus of major headlines over the past two months for parting ways with Manchester United and then breaking records with Portugal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The 37-year-old has become a free agent and he has been linked to several clubs around the world as he seeks to continue his playing career at the highest level.

MLS hopeful of luring CR7

The latest reports indicate that Saudi Arabian giants Al Nasser have reached a verbal agreement to sign Cristiano Ronaldo during the winter transfer window. The deal is expected to be signed by all parties involved following the 37-year-old’s participation at the World Cup. There is little chance of anything being formalised before then, because Ronaldo is entirely focused on Portugal’s upcoming game against Switzerland in the Round of 16 on Tuesday night.

According to the latest information, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United striker is set to earn €200 million per year until 2025 and his agents are checking the documents before presenting the offer to him. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, there is still nothing signed, agreed or approved by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Given the fact that the deal is still at the discussion stage at the moment, several clubs in Major League Soccer are moving fast in an attempt to lure Cristiano Ronaldo to come to the United States instead. The 37-year-old has previously been heavily linked with joining Inter Miami CF and Los Angeles Galaxy. Both franchises will make one more push to sign the Portuguese superstar and make him the new face of the league during the 2023 MLS campaign.
