Mohamed Salah becomes fourth player to hit special Premier League milestone
Salah scored once again as Liverpool defeated Leicester to go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah continued his rich vein of form for Liverpool on Boxing Day (Thursday, December 26), scoring the third goal in a 3-1 victory for Arne Slot’s team against Leicester City at Anfield. And the 82nd-minute strike allowed the Egyptian to reach a milestone only three players had previously achieved in the current version of the English top division.
Salah’s Premier League record for Liverpool
Since moving to Liverpool from Roma in the summer of 2017, Salah has now either scored or assisted 250 goals for the Reds in the Premier League. To break that down further, that’s 171 goals and 79 assists.
As highlighted by BBC Sport, only Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Harry Kane have registered 250 or more goal involvements for a single club since the Premier League was established in 1992.

Rooney, Giggs and Kane hit one-club milestone
Rooney totalled 276 (183 goals, 93 assists) for Manchester United between 2004 and 2017. The former England star leads the way, although Salah could well eclipse that mark, provided he extends his contract on Merseyside.
Giggs, Rooney’s former United teammate, is next on 271 goal contributions (109 goals, 162 assists), which he amassed between the start of the first Premier League in August 1992 and May 2014. The Welshman had already played a full season for the Red Devils in the English First Division before the creation of the Premier League.
Prior to joining Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, Kane achieved the feat with Tottenham Hotspur. The current England captain amassed 259 goal involvements (213 goals, 46 assists) having made his debut in the competition in August 2012.
The surprising club for which Salah scored his first Premier League goal
Salah has become so synonymous with Liverpool that it might be easy to forget Chelsea was his first Premier League club and for whom he netted his first goal in the English top flight.
After signing for The Blues from Swiss team Basel in January 2013, Salah scored in England for the first time in a 6-0 thrashing of Arsenal in March that year, also finding the net for a second time in a victory over Stoke City a couple of weeks later.

However, he was soon shipped out by then Chelsea manager José Mourinho, spending two-and-a-half years in Italy before moving to Liverpool.
Salah’s incredible 2024/25 form for Liverpool
Salah’s 16 goals and 11 assists in 17 appearances this season have put Liverpool firmly in the driving seat to win the Premier League for the first time since 2019/20. As it stands, Slot’s side hold a seven-point lead over second-placed Chelsea, with a game in hand.
