Monterrey, America and Santos Laguna maintain winning ways at Liga MX Apertura summit
Los Rayados de Monterrey, Club America and third placed Santos Laguna all recorded wins in matchday 11 of the 2022 Liga MX Apertura.
The Liga MX Apertura 2022 heads into the final stretch of the regular phase with Monterrey as leader. ‘Los Rayados’ returned to winning ways this weekend with a win 1-3 away victory over Xolos and they have all but practically guaranteed a place in the playoffs.
Club America are in unstoppable form winning yet again away to Mazatlan. Both the ‘Aguilas’ and Santos Laguna have a game in hand on Monterrey with the ‘verdiblancos’ having little trouble with a 4-1 win over Atletico San Luis this matchday.

Pachuca now hold fourth place and the last spot which secures automatic access to the liguilla with Tigres in fifth and all teams down to Juarez involved in the playoff with just six games left in the regular phase of the Apertura.
Reigning champions Atlas look adrift in 16th spot and it’s been a disappointing campaign for Pumas as the university side with new acquisition Dani Alves losing in Guadalajara to Chivas and based on current form, unlikely to secure a place in the top 12 to keep their season alive.
