Napoli fans went crazy in the city with parties and celebrations in Naples last night and rightly so. Their 1-1 draw with Udinese was just enough to earn them the Series A title, a title they have not held in over three decades.

Napoli fans go wild

It wasn’t just the team celebrating their thrilling Scudetto victory - it was fans all throughout Italy, but especially in Naples. Victor Osimhen scored the second-half equalizer and from the moment the final whistle was blown, the entire city of Naples erupted in celebration. Players rushed the field in Udine, fireworks were set off throughout the whole city of Naples, and the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona was lit up with flares as Napoli celebrated their first title since 1990. For many fans, it’s their first time witnessing Napoli as title holders.

“It’s a wonderful emotion,” said a fan after the game. “Napoli after 33 years has been reborn.”

“It’s an immense joy,” said another fan. “Naples deserves it. The city is great. I’m speechless. It’s really beautiful!”

“Since I was a kid, I dreamt for Napoli to be Italian champions,” said another fan in tears. “I cried a lot. It’s a victory for the whole city. So patriotic!”

“It’s the first Scudetto for me,” said another fan. “I am young, but my father and my grandparents gave me this emotion. I am so happy!”

“I hugged my grandad who was crying,” said another emotional fan. “For him, it’s the third [Scudetto]. Incredible joy, the whole town is celebrating!”
