Neymar to Al-Hilal: Brazilian forward wants Barcelona move in 2025
Luis Enrique and the club’s sporting director, Luís Campos, told the 31-year-old last week that he was surplus to requirements at PSG.
Neymar is the next star name set to move to the Saudi Pro League, with PSG and Al-Hilal agreeing on a deal worth a reported €90million ($98m) for the Brazilian forward.
PSG boss Luis Enrique and the club’s sporting director, Luís Campos, told the 31-year-old last week that he was surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes and could find a new club.
Neymar had been hoping for a return to Barcelona to play under head coach Xavi Hernández, but a deal never materialised. In France, L’Équipe report that Neymar will soon undergo a medical before completing his move to Al-Hilal.
In 2017, Les Parisiens paid €222million ($243m) to Barcelona to secure Neymar’s services.
Al-Hilal deal
The 31-year-old is set to sign a two-year deal with the Saudi club and his contract will include an option to trigger a further year.
L’Équipe claim that Neymar has no intention of activating that option and wants to return to Barcelona in 2025, where he could prepare - at an elite level - for the 2026 World Cup with Brazil.
Neymar’s record with PSG
Neymar made 173 appearances during his time in the French capital, scoring 118 goals and providing 77 assists.
He is set to travel to Riyadh this week to finalise his move. He is set to earn approximately €100million ($110m) per year.
