Cristian Arango was the Los Angeles Football Club top scorer last year when they won the MLS Cup for the first time in franchise history after defeating the Philadelphia Union in penalty shootouts. The 27-year-old has been a key player for the Black & Gold since arriving in the summer of 2021 and he is demanding a salary improvement to remain with the MLS side for the 2023 campaign.

Pachuca his next destination?

With the transfer window about to close, Pachuca is reportedly making a late bid to sign Cristian Arango for the Clausura 2023, since he has not reached a contract extension with LAFC. The Colombian striker makes around $900,000 per year with the MLS side and he was demanding a raise in his salary to remain at the club. So far no deal has been reached with LAFC and Pachuca is taking advantage of the situation.

According to journalist Diego Rueda, Pachuca should be announcing the signing for Arango by the end of the day. LAFC had rejected an initial bid of $3 million for the 27-year-old earlier this month for Al-Hali and they will only consider the move if a club offers at least $6.5 million.

The Saudi side didn’t make a second bid to sign the Colombian striker, but Pachuca will have to pay close to $10 million if they want to sign him for the Clausura 2023. Chicho Arango has scored 32 goals with LAFC and provided seven assists in 54 appearances across all competitions.
