Pachuca see Kevin Álvarez playing in England or Spain
The Tuzos board is sure that the winger is ready to make the leap to one of the top European leagues - the Premier League or LaLiga, possible destinations.
With the possibility of transferring Kevin Álvarez to another Mexican club ruled, Pachuca’s board of directors is already envisioning where the full-back’s next destination could be, with a move abroad looking like the most likely option for the player to continue his career.
In an interview with Mediotiempo, club president Armando Martínez, assured that the full-back has shown that he has the quality to play in league as competitive as England’s Premier League.
He made it clear that, unlike other Mexican players who have made the leap to Europe, Kevin would not need to start out playing in a so-called emerging league. “Kevin has got what it takes to play in England. There are players who have to go to France, Portugal or the Netherlands first. I think Kevin is ready to go directly to Spain or England”, he said.

Martínez added that, although América has shown an interest in Álvarez, the club would rather the Mexico international joined a foreign side than one of their Liga MX rivals. “I want Kevin to go to Europe, because he has the quality to play in Europe and his dream is to play there. There is no formal offer from América. Yes, there is an interest, but we did not get to what we wanted. I am sure that in the summer Kevin will have the opportunity to play at a European club, because his physical and technical characteristics allow him to play anywhere,” he said.
The Pachuca president spoke about how the club took a chance on Álvarez and how he flourished to earn a starting position in the side. “Two years ago we sold Dedos López to give Kevin a chance. Then Rodrigo Salinas arrived and he fought with him for a place; later, we brought Matías Catalán and all they did was strengthen Kevin. He is in great physical and football conditions”, he ended.
