América have already pinpointed who they hope could be their first reinforcement of the Apertura 2024. They have their sights set on Erick Sánchez, who has turned into one of the best Mexican soccer players in the Liga MX and for that reason, has understandably attracted interest from a number of clubs in Mexico. With the Clausura 2024 reaching the midway point, the Águilas have approached the Pachuca board to ask whether the player would be up for sale or not.

Pachuca demand high price for star player Sánchez

According to TUDN reporter Julio Ibañez, América are keen to find out if Pachuca would be willing to let the 24-year-old midfielder leave and at what price. The Tuzos have since responded, informing their league rivals that they would expect a fee of around 12 million dollars for Chiquito - however that figure may beyond América’s budget.

America is interested in Sánchez, but the asking price - $12 million makes it seems to me that striking a deal won;t be easy. It’s a lot of money, and the operation is looking very complicated,” Julio Ibañez explained on the Insiders program.

Los Tuzos obviously value Sánchez highly and have replied with price according to his market value. Sánchez is currently one of the most expensive players in the Liga MX. According to Transfermarkt, the 24-year-old midfielder is worth 10 million euros, a figure that makes him the second most valuable player in Mexican soccer at the moment just behind Sergio Canales ($11 million) and level with Juan Brunetta ($10 million) and Julián Quiñones ($10 million).

Sánchez, who came through the youth system at Pachuca is under contract with Los Tuzos until December 2025 so any another club that expresses an interest in signing him must pay at least the asking price at which the Hidalgo team has valued him.
