We’re heading into Day 12 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and there’s going to be a lot of excitement as the competition heats up even more.

It’s only a couple of days until the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup is finalized, and today’s games will make the picture even clearer.

Argentina defeated Poland 2-0 in their Group C matchup, but Saudi Arabia scored a 95th-minute goal in their 2-1 loss to Mexico, which was just enough to let Poland reach second place behind Argentina and advance on goal differential.

In Group D, Tunisia defeated France in a 1-0 stunner but were eliminated from the World Cup. Australia made it through after its 1-0 victory over Denmark.

In today’s lineup of matches, teams in Groups F and E will fight it out for their own places in the next stage.

World Cup games today, Thursday, Dec. 1

Group F: Croatia vs. Belgium (10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT)

Belgium came into the competition as Group F favorites, but now they are on the brink of elimination. They currently rank third behind Croatia and Morocco. Croatia is number one along with Morocco, but is ahead on goal differential. Although the Croatians have not defeated Belgium in more than ten years, their morale is high while their rivals are trying to shake off a slump.

Group F: Canada vs. Morocco (10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT)

Canada will face Morocco in the last game of their Group F round, with the North American country already out of the running after two consecutive losses. As Canada has nothing left to lose, they will try to exit the tournament with a good showing. Morocco will be gunning for a seat at the knockout stage for the first time in almost 40 years, by either beating or drawing with Canada.

Group E: Japan vs. Spain (2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT)

Both Japan and Spain started their Group E campaigns strong, but at this point it is still impossible to determine which team will be knocked out of the contest. Spain is in better shape after their 7-0 rout of Costa Rica followed by a 1-1 draw with Germany. Japan failed to duplicate their 2-2 upset over Germany and lost 1-0 to Costa Rica. Either of them could advance with a win or even a draw, depending on score scenarios.

Group E: Costa Rica vs. Germany (2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT)

After Japan shocked Germany, the former champions managed to stay alive via their draw with Spain. Despite being in last place in the group, they still have a chance to make it to the round of 16 with a big win. They are trying to avoid the early elimination that they suffered in the last World Cup.
