Rayados get huge boost at perfect time as key stars return ahead of playoff push
Monterrey welcomes back nearly full squad after injury crisis, boosting hopes of climbing into Liguilla playoff positions.

Monterrey has endured a difficult stretch in recent weeks, marked by inconsistent results and a long list of injuries. However, the squad is now approaching full strength at a crucial point in the Clausura 2026 season.
The international break has proven especially valuable for the club, giving injured players time to recover and rejoin training.
Nearly full Rayados squad returns after FIFA break
Head coach Nicolás Sánchez confirmed that almost the entire squad is available again, with only two players still working their way back: Íker Fimbres and Érick Aguirre.

“That is the very positive thing about these two weeks because practically everyone has been able to train,” Sánchez said in a news conference. “Except Íker (Fimbres) and Erick Aguirre, who we are reintegrating gradually. The rest are at 100 percent. So we are practically with a full squad.”
At one point in March, Monterrey was dealing with a major injury crisis that sidelined nearly half the team, including Sergio Canales, Lucas Ocampos, Óliver Torres, Stefan Medina, Alonso Aceves, Fimbres, Aguirre and Fidel Ambriz.
Anthony Martial situation clarified
Looking ahead to their Matchday 13 clash against Atlético San Luis, Monterrey could have close to a full roster available, including forward Anthony Martial.

Sánchez also addressed speculation around Martial’s status with the squad, making it clear there is no separation between him and the rest of the group.
“Anthony, like all players in the squad, trains and starts at the same time, on the same schedule,” Sánchez said. “He may do some specific training sessions, but no one is apart. No player is apart.”
Playoff pressure building for Rayados
Martial could even be included in the matchday squad this Saturday, April 5, at Estadio Monterrey.
Monterrey currently sits just outside the Liguilla playoff places, in ninth position with 14 points, adding urgency to their upcoming fixtures as they look to climb back into contention.
