Real Madrid identify Marco Asensio replacement
The Spaniard is said to be on his way to a new challenge and plans are therefore in motion, with one possible name being ruled out.
Real Madrid is making preparations to fill the soon-to-be-created void left by Marco Asensio in their squad. The Spanish winger is on the verge of leaving the club, but his successor has already been identified: Brahim Díaz. The Malaga-born player has gained valuable experience during his time at Milan, even reaching the cusp of a Champions League final, and has successfully met the expectations set by Madrid since his loan spell in Italy began. Brahim has blossomed, and he is now viewed as practically a new signing, much like Fran García.
Brahim Díaz for Madrid return
Having amassed 122 appearances in Serie A, Brahim has honed his skills, and Ancelotti has earmarked him to provide additional depth on the right wing. Rodrygo is established as a starter, but the Moroccan-Spanish Andalusian will bring his incisiveness as a left-footed attacker, offering a different dynamic from Asensio with his dribbling abilities. Despite Milan’s persistent efforts to retain his services, Brahim will return to Madrid, with the club handling his comeback carefully. Adjustments will be made to his contract, including its duration and financial terms, to reflect his anticipated role within the squad.
For Brahim, this represents both a challenge and the springboard he has been waiting for. With Luis de la Fuente, one of his supporters from their time together in the youth ranks of the Spanish national team, now leading the senior team, impressing in Madrid could propel him into La Roja’s squad. The young talent sees this as an opportunity to showcase his abilities and elevate his international career to new heights.
Kubo, exorbitant price
Another player capable of operating in the position occupied by Asensio, and soon to be filled by Brahim, is Take Kubo. Despite his past association with Real Madrid, the Japanese talent is currently a fully-fledged member of Real Sociedad, and his market value is set at a substantial €60 million, reflecting the release clause in his contract. Madrid had initially transferred Kubo for a mere €6 million, without including any buy-back option, thereby only benefiting from a capital gain and retaining a right of first refusal.
While there may be complex strategies to facilitate his return, the likelihood of a successful reunion seems uncertain, given Madrid’s current focus on other transfer priorities this summer, specifically Jude Bellingham and securing a new striker. With Brahim’s arrival, Madrid has managed to address Asensio’s departure without incurring any additional costs.
