Real Madrid will set off for Vigo without five injured players, as the squad has no fresh concerns ahead of their next LaLiga EA Sports match of the 23/24 season.

And that is the best news for Ancelotti, who will not have any new concerns beyond those known: Courtois, Militao, Arda Güler, Ceballos and Mendy.

Ceballos (hamstring) and Mendy (hamstring) are expected, if all goes well, for the next league game after Celta, against Getafe on next Saturday, September 2 at the first game back at the new-look Santiago Bernabéu.

When will Courtois and Militão return?

Güler, who has undergone surgery on his meniscus, should finalise his return by the end of September, while Courtois and Militão will be out for pretty much the entire season, due to their respective injuries to their ACL knee ligaments.

The morning training session passed along smoothly at Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground, at least during the 15 minutes open to the photographers and journalists ahead of Carlo Ancelotti’s press conference. A race and a rondo where the usual possession exercises carried out before the closing of the doors to prepare tactically for the game.

Which youth players are training with Madrid?

Given the five absences mentioned, five homegrown players completed the session with the first team. The three who travelled to the United States for the tour: Fran González, Diego Piñeiro and Nico Paz, as well as the additions of Manuel Ángel and Marvel, who will play as the club’s fourth centre-back since they are not looking for a short-term replacement for Militão.

This is contrary to what was happened in goal, with Kepa arriving to take Courtois’s place - and he will start against Celta after Ancelotti wanted to continue with Lunin against Almería.

Against Almería, the Ukrainian had an outstanding performance, but Carlo has already hinted that the greater “international experience” of the goalkeeper on loan from Chelsea puts him ahead of Andriy, in addition to having been signed as the starting goalkeeper. After the victories in San Mamés (0-2) and at the Power Horse (1-3), Real Madrid will look for the full nine points in Balaídos with a squad that has not given any last-minute shocks to Carletto.
