With Real Madrid’s LaLiga game against Osasuna on the horizon, plenty of doubts still hang over the Spanish capital as to who will be available for the key clash.

The suspense regarding David Alaba’s fitness will stay as a pressing concern until the final moment when the time comes to decide, with the Austrian suffering from abductor issues that meant he had to come off the pitch early in the game against Las Palmas.

From then on, he has not been able to complete a full training session at Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground, including the Thursday ahead of the game. He took part in some of the session with the rest of the team but completed the rest of the work individually, working with the physio team in order to recover his fitness.

Will Alaba play against Osasuna?

Given his struggles, the final match-fitness test for Alaba was put back to Friday, and it remains to be seen whether or not the defender will be able to complete the last training session before the tie that will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu. If Alaba manages to see himself through the session, he will immediately enter onto Ancelotti’s squad list.

And that is not as banal as it seems, as Madrid currently only have one central defender available in the senior squad: Rüdiger. The long-term injury to Militão was the first blow, the second was Alaba and the third was Nacho’s red card in the game against Girona. He was sent off for a horror tackle towards the end of the game and will serve a three-game LaLiga ban for his actions.

Injury update on Vinicius, Arda Güler, Militão, Courtois...

Vinicius, who spoke at court this morning regarding the alleged racist insults he suffered at Mestalla against Valencia, arrived on time to training and was able to complete the session with no issues.

The training schedule began with in the gym and the players then took to the pitch, with the two main absences of Militão and Courtois hanging over the club.

Madrid did, however, receive some good news: Arda Güler is now running on the grass and his return is getting closer. The Turkish midfielder suffered a thigh strain while recovering from a meniscus injury, and the idea is that he should be available at the end of the month.
