“Last year was a very important year for me,” she told Fox Sports México recently. “My performances at international level opened up a lot of doors and, when you see all the clubs that are interested in me, it makes all the work I’ve done worthwhile. And not just the effort I’ve put in: my team-mates and my family, too.

Now I just have to decide where I’d fit in best - where I could perform well and keep on growing as player.”

Caicedo, who currently plays for Colombian club Deportivo Cali, starred for her country at the Copa América Femenina in 2022, winning the player of the tournament award as the hosts finished as runners-up. She also impressed at the Under-17 and Under-20 Women’s World Cups last year, finishing as top scorer in the former.
