In recent weeks, Saudi Arabia has been trying everything possible to break the world transfer record for Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.

The numbers behind Vinicius’ reported Saudi Arabia move

According to reports in Spain, the country’s Public Investment Fund, which owns four Saudi Pro League clubs, is willing to offer the LaLiga giants €500 million (over $558 million) for the Brazilian, who would earn a reported €350 million ($392.27 million) per season.

However, in a world exclusive interview with CNN, the 24-year-old says his future lies with the 15-time European champions.

I’ve always dreamed of playing for Real Madrid, so I live every moment here as if it were my last. Everyone wants to win with the best team on the planet, to be able to play with the best players and to be able to score so many goals in so many finals and to be able to help so much.

“I’m only 24 years old and I want to continue like this for much longer and make history with this great team I play for today. I want to stay at this level for a long time and be able to win as many Champions Leagues as Carvajal, Modrić, Nacho and Kroos, who won six. Not everyone has the opportunity to do so, which is why I want to enjoy every moment wearing this jersey.”

Vinicius discusses Real Madrid’s treble hopes in 2024/25

Vinicius also discussed the possibility of Real Madrid winning the treble (Champions League, LaLiga, Copa del Rey).

“Every year, our objective is to win as many trophies as we can. First comes the Champions League, which is the most difficult competition, then comes LaLiga and then the Copa del Rey.

“Each one brings its own pressure. The Champions League is so important to Real Madrid, it’s one we always want to win. Not only the players, but the fans demand that we win that competition too. In any case, our goal now is to try to win every competition we play in, which would see us achieve a treble in the end”.
