Real Madrid target Diomande reports back to Leipzig as club posts surprise update
The Ivory Coast international has returned to RB Leipzig following his post-World Cup vacation, with the German club welcoming him back on social media.
RB Leipzig showcased Yan Diomande’s return to training on social media on Monday. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger has rejoined the Bundesliga club after taking time off following the World Cup, and Leipzig marked the occasion with a post featuring a smiling Diomande alongside several teammates.
“Welcome back, boys!” the club wrote, making no mention of the growing speculation surrounding the teenager’s future.
Diomande’s return comes amid strong interest from Real Madrid. As expected, he reported back to Leipzig after enjoying a short break following Ivory Coast’s World Cup campaign. The winger arrived at the club’s training center smiling before undergoing routine medical testing ahead of preseason.
Real Madrid look close to signing Diomande
The 19-year-old broke onto the global stage at the 2026 World Cup. After joining Leipzig from Leganés for €20 million, he adapted quickly to life in Germany, with his performances reflecting that smooth transition.
His stock has risen even further since the tournament. Several of Europe’s biggest clubs have been monitoring his situation, but Real Madrid has moved quickly, and all indications are that the Spanish giant is close to reaching an agreement with Leipzig to sign the winger.
