Real Madrid is putting the finishing touches on the signing of Yan Diomande, a deal the club has moved through at remarkable speed. The transfer is now so far advanced that an official announcement is believed to be only a matter of hours away. AS has learned that the player agreed personal terms several days ago, with the final details of the agreement with RB Leipzig now being ironed out. The highly rated Ivory Coast international is on the verge of becoming a Madrid player.
At Valdebebas, there is growing confidence that one of the club’s marquee signings of the summer is effectively complete, although the usual final formalities remain. Those involve minor contractual details and the exchange of documentation, with the key issue already settled: an agreement between Real Madrid and the German club worth around $130 million to $135 million.
Negotiations with Diomande’s representatives progressed quickly. The Ivory Coast star is represented by the same agency that handles Vinícius Júnior, meaning communication between the two sides has long been smooth and straightforward. His salary and the length of his contract have already been agreed, with only the signatures still pending.
Monday could be the decisive day for Diamonde to Real Madrid
The transfer is so close that Real Madrid could officially announce the signing as early as Monday. If that happens, Diomande would not even need to report for RB Leipzig’s preseason training.
New Leipzig head coach Martín Demichelis had scheduled Diomande and the club’s other players returning from the World Cup to report on Monday at the club’s training center.
Diomande would become Real Madrid’s fifth addition to the first-team squad this summer and the club’s sixth signing overall for the 2026-27 season, including the arrival of José Mourinho.
