Real Madrid vs Elche summary: score, goals, highlights - LaLiga Santander 2022/23
Real Madrid vs Elche live: latest news
Too much Madrid for a poor Elche team!
Did Elche play tonight? The Alicante team was awful, and Real Madrid was just too much for them. Ancelotti must be pleased tonight; his team had a plan they executed it perfectly. In addition, Benzema wins the MVP for tonight. His two goals put him ahead of Raul as the second-highest-scoring player for Real Madrid.
The Frenchman has had a second breath at being a striker since Ronaldo left the team and has performed so far. Los Blancos haven't missed the Portuguese at all since he went to play for Juventus. Tonight's performance could help him win the upcoming The Best trophy.
Moreover, Camavinga has proven that he is ready for the challenge of being a Madrid starter. The other Frenchman has been illustrious; he is everywhere, in defense, in offense, he assists, and he robs. What a player for years to come.
If Real Madrid can take anything away from this game, even though it was more a practice than an actual La Liga game, it's that players like Ceballos, Camavinga, and Rodrygo are more than ready to play. That Alaba should stay on the left, and Nacho should start for Rudiger.
Los Blancos are now eight points behind Barcelona. With a whole 18 games to be played in the second part of the league, it's just starting. They have more than enough time to catch up and win La Liga. Given that they can keep this form.

Toni Kroos wants to end his career at home
The German has been ver clear on his wish to end his career while still playing for Real Madrid. Which means that if he doesn’t renew with them this year, this could be his last season as a professional player.
Another play by Rodrygo!!! Again he takes on two but now on the left and Badia comes out and stops the shot and it goes out for a goal kick after it hit Rodrygo again.
What a play by Rodrygo who takes on two on the right and shots but Badia stops the Brazilian’s hopes of scoring!
Real Madrid keeps the pressure up. Benzema is looking to get his hat-trick tonight!
No changes so far in the game! Both teams come out with the same elevens that started the game!
And we are back for the second half!
Karim Benzema!!!

A very superior Real Madrid is walking around the Bernabeu tonight!
Another one!!
Camavinga!!! What a player he gets the ball back plays it to Benzema who gives it to Rodrygo that does a Brazilian dance on the ball and the Elche defense takes the bite.
Out!! But very close!! Alana almost made it 3-0
Free kick for Madrid! Foul against Valverde! This is a good opportunity for Los Blancos
Ceballos for Alaba and the left fullback with the shot that’s saved by Badia! Maybe Ancelotti’s anger did something.
And Fidel shoots wide!! Elche with another opportunity. Real Madrid are relaxing a bit too much for Ancelotti’s health.
Elche gets a corner! The team is slowly starting to try to get back to the game.
And it goes nowhere! The header by Gumbau is wide of the mark.
For those tuning back in!! Real Madrid is in cruise control at the moment. A fantastic goal by Asensio and another by Karim Benzema made this game 2-0.
Elche has barely done anything to intimidate Los Blancos.

Peeep! The whistle blows and we are underway...
The players are out and we're almost ready to get the ball rolling...
No Vini, but Ponce starts
In the absence of the suspended Vinícius, Rodrygo has another chance to impress for Madrid. Fans know they need to be patient with him, though, as five out of his last six goals were scored after the 65th minute.
Elche's hope for a surprise result rests on Ezequiel Ponce, who has scored their first goal in four out of his five appearances where he has scored this season.
Ancelotti rumours quelled, maybe
As you likely know, manager Carlo Ancelotti, who had previously denied agreeing to take a job with the Brazil national team, led Real Madrid to a historic fifth Club World Cup trophy at the weekend. They secured the victory by defeating Al-Hilal with a score of 5-3.
Despite rumors that he would be fired if they failed to win, Ancelotti remained in his position and stated that the triumph should boost his team's confidence as they continue to pursue their rivals.
How it stands: Elche
OK, not much hope in it for the fans of the travelling team looking at the table after all.
This may be their game in hand over their relegation rivals, but even a win -- that will not be happening, you can hold me to that -- will only bring them to within seven points of the penultimate team, Getafe.

How it stands: Real Madrid
As you can see, there's a comfortable gap between Los Blancos and their bitter rivals Barça, 11 points to be precise.
Closing that to eight is fundamental with this game in hand.

The Madrid-Elche gulf
Certainly, if history is anything to go by, tonight's visitors don't have a hope in hell of taking away all three points from the capital.
Maybe some hope for Los Franjiverdes can be found from looking at the current standings...

Elche can score too
One for the visiting fans tonight. Here's Boye heading home against Los Blancos.
Fancy some moving pictures to go along with my words? Then you're in luck as some lad called John Logie Baird* created this thing called a TV, then Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf developed an internet type thing and then Tim Berners-Lee... ahh, just click on the above image and check out how to watch!
Madrid vs Elche: good memories
The social media team at the Bernabéu have put together a little montage, as you do, of the best goals for their team in this fixture. Enjoy!
Real Madrid vs Elche live: welcome
Hello and welcome to a chilly evening here in the Spanish capital as Real Madrid host Elche in LaLiga Santander.
If you pay any fleeting attention to what's going on in Spain's top flight, you'll know that the reigning champions -- and most recent winners of the Champions League -- are not having it all their own way this season. More of that to come.
The good news for Los Blancos, who can't afford to drop any more points right now, is that they are playing the team rooted to the bottom of the table. Surely only one outcome then, right?
