Real Madrid’s incoming signing, Endrick, who currently plays for Brazilian side Palmeiras, is suffering a dip in form which has seen the player lose his place in the side and, as a result, on the scoresheet.

It is not the ideal summer for Endrick, who is not the reason for the incredible run of positive results that Palmeiras are achieving, with four wins in their last four games. It seems as though the forward does not have the confidence of his current boss, Abel Ferreira, who has chosen to play either Rony or José López instead of the future Real Madrid man.

The lack of playing time for the young forward is beginning to become worrying. He has hardly featured in the last nine games for his side, appearing in only two of them, and only one game as a starter. He started in Palmeiras’ win over Marcelo’s Fluminense, but he didn’t even manage a single shot on target. In his last minutes, against Cruzeiro, he played less than half an hour, again without a shot on goal. From then on, he hasn’t been seen in three games.

When will Endrick play for Palmeiras?

In June, Endrick made history by scoring for the first time in the Copa Libertadores at just 16-years-old; since then, his form has fallen off a cliff. Two goals came after that, when his team dipped in form, but since the group effort has picked up, Endrick has been left out.

In fact, his biggest moment in the spotlight was in the Copa Libertadores against Atletico Mineiro, where he didn’t play but was sent off while on the bench, meaning he was absent for the next round.

Palmeiras play the return leg of the Copa Libertadores quarter finals against Colombia side Deportivo Pereira. With a 0-4 win in the first leg, it is a chance for Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira to play Endrick and give him some much needed minutes on the football pitch if the palyer is to find his form that caused Real Madrid to sign the youngster for €35 million plus €25 million in extra clauses.

Vitor Roque is in fine form: the comparisons have begun

Vitor Roque, the future Barcelona forward, is sitting on the other side of the debate about wonderkids. His side, Athletico Paranaense, are not going through their best spell of results, and are 7th in the league, as well as having already been eliminated from the Copa Libertadores against Bolívar, despite the 18-year-old scoring in the tie to take it to penalties.

That goal started a fantastic run of form which has seen him bag three goals in his last four games, the last two being crucial strikes which have saved his side from losing.

The comparisons with Endrick have already begun.
