According to Italian sports daily Gazzeta dello Sport, the Italian team has the left-back on its agenda in the event that Denzel Dumfries leaves for Chelsea.

With each day, Álvaro Odriozola’s future is looking further away from Real Madrid. Ancelotti hardly used him at all during the American tour (Carvajal, Lucas Vázquez and even Vinicius Tobias are all ahead of him in the coach’s rotation plans) so it’s not surprising that suitors are lining up for the Basque full-back. And one of the clubs at the front of the queue is Inter Milan, as reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport. Simone Inzaghi’s side will be aiming to to win the Scudetto again, and the club has been combing the market before the possible departure of Denzel Dumfries to Chelsea. Odriozola is one of their options.

But he is not the only option that the nerazzurri have in mind. They have also been interested in Timothy Castagne, a 26-year-old winger who is currently playing in the Premier League with Leicester City . Milan could be a good destination for Odriozola, who already has experience in the Italian league after spending time on loan with Fiorentina, where he played 27 times and regained the level he had shown at Real Sociedad- which prompted Real Madrid to sign him in 2018.

However, for now it’s nothing more than hypotheses. For the operation to go ahead, first Dumfries must be transferred to Chelsea, something that has not yet happened. Milan are holding out for a better offer for Dumfries and in the meantime, Odriozola will need to look at all of his options - including the possibility of a return to Serie A.
