Real Madrid’s possible starting line-up vs Las Palmas in LaLiga today
Real Madrid must do without the banned Jude Bellingham when they visit Las Palmas on LaLiga matchday 22.
Brahim Díaz is expected to come into the Real Madrid attack in place of Jude Bellingham when Carlo Ancelotti’s men face Las Palmas in LaLiga today.
Bellingham, who is the joint-top scorer in the Spanish top flight with 14 goals, is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season in last weekend’s win over Almería.
Madrid out to leapfrog LaLiga leaders Girona
Madrid visit Las Palmas with the opportunity to move into LaLiga top spot ahead of Girona, who are away at Celta Vigo tomorrow. The Catalans are currently a point clear at the summit, although Los Blancos have a game in hand.
Las Palmas, whose tally of 17 goals conceded means they have LaLiga’s second-meanest defence behind only Madrid (13), head into matchday 22 lying eighth in the table.
Modric to return, Lunin to play in goal
In addition to bringing Brahim into the team, Madrid boss Ancelotti is set to restore Luka Modric to central midfield, with Toni Kroos rested ahead of a week in which the 14-time European champions will play twice more in LaLiga.
Madrid go to Getafe on Thursday for their postponed matchday-20 clash - which was rescheduled because of the club’s involvement in this month’s Spanish Super Cup - before hosting city rivals Atlético Madrid next Sunday.
If he does return to the line-up in Las Palmas, Modric can expect to join Fede Valverde and one of Aurélien Tchouaméni or Eduardo Camavinga in the engine room.
Meanwhile, no changes are expected in Madrid’s back four, where Ferland Mendy has beaten off the competition provided by summer recruit Fran García to secure first-choice status at left-back.
In goal, Ancelotti has confirmed that Andriy Lunin will be handed the gloves ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga, as the Italian continues to alternate between the two keepers.
Possible Real Madrid line-up vs Las Palmas:
Lunin, Carvajal, Rüdiger, Nacho, Mendy, Valverde, Modric, Tchouaméni/Camavinga, Brahim, Rodrygo, Vinícius.
