Real Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup squad: Ancelotti takes every first-team player to Helsinki

Champions League holders Real Madrid take on Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2022 UEFA Super Cup at Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium on Wednesday.

Real Madrid flew out from the Spanish capital on Tuesday morning, ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup clash against Eintracht Frankfurt in Helsinki. Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has taken all 24 first-team players to the Finnish capital, in addition to ‘B’ team goalkeeper Luis López.

Ancelotti and a player to speak to media on Tuesday

The team is due to train at Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium, the venue for the European curtain-raiser, at 8pm local time (1pm ET) on Tuesday. Forty-five minutes before Madrid’s scheduled training time, Ancelotti and a member of his squad will appear before the media at a press conference.

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin and López.

Defenders: Carvajal, Militão, Alaba, Vallejo, Nacho, Odriozola, Rüdiger and Mendy.

Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde, Lucas Vázquez, Tchouameni, Ceballos and Camavinga.

Forwards: Hazard, Benzema, Asensio, Vinicius, Rodrygo and Mariano.

In what will be the teams’ first competitive meeting since the Spaniards inflicted a 7-3 defeat on the Germans in the 1960 European Cup final, Madrid and Frankfurt face off in the 47th edition of the UEFA Super Cup at 10pm local time on Wednesday (3pm ET/12 noon PT).
