Reports suggest Manchester United want to sign Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus
The Ajax forward player worked with Eric ten hag during his time at the club and has been linked with the English club.
The carousel continues: round and round and round, infinity must end somewhere to give me, you and Manchester United something to grab onto - if not to stop completely, to at least slow down. Since Alex Ferguson left, the most successful club in England has been a planet spinning uncontrollably around a million suns; Uranus rotates on its side, Pluto takes 248 years to orbit the sun and Neptune rains diamonds, but Manchester United’s world is weirder.
Names whizz out of nowhere and stick to the window, everyone clings onto the hope of the newest player to come to the fore that can be the one to turn the club around and give back the success that the fans demand. Even Cristiano Ronaldo tried and couldn’t do it.
Who might Manchester United sign in January?
The latest name to be thrown into orbit is Mohammed Kudus, of Ajax. The forward/midfielder has played as a number 9 for his club during recent times and has struggled to make a significant impact, despite the promise that he showed in earlier months. At the World Cup he represented Ghana and, playing in a slightly deeper role, he shone in an average team that many expected would not have the firepower to go far in the tournament.
Ten Hag ‘keen’ to sign new players for Manchester United
Jeremy Cross of the Daily star wrote that “ten Hag is keen to land a new forward in this month’s transfer window and is considering a move for Kudus.” The forward worked under the current Manchester United boss coincided with the player during the 2020-21 season.
Kudus has made 21 appearances for Ajax so far this year, and has scored 10 goals. He has five goals in 14 games in the Eredivisie, which is what has seen him linked with a move, although the reported £40 million price tag is said to put Manchester United off for now.
