Reynolds’ hilarious birthday video to McElhenney
For Rob McElhenney’s birthday, Ryan Reynolds decided to make a video clearing up the pronunciation of his Wrexham co-owner’s last name.
Today, actor and Wrexham owner Rob McElhenney turns 46 years old. His co-owner and fellow Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds decided to wish him a happy birthday by posting a video on social media, in which he sings him a tune. The song? It’s about how to properly pronounce McElhenney.
Reynolds’ birthday video to McElhenney
In the video, which Reynolds posted on Twitter this morning, he starts by singing straight to the camera about how, despite his fame, no one seems to be able to properly pronounce McElhenney’s last name.
“Pronouncing all those N’s and E’s and H’s can perplex ‘em, so here’s a little birthday gift from all your mates at Wrexham,” the song begins. From there, it’s a combination of people singing his name the proper way, with appearances from staff at Wrexham and McElhenney’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” co-actors.
“First it’s Mack-le like a tackle, then Henney, like the penny that he’s in for with the pound, it’s M-C-E-L-H-E-double N-E-Y! You’ll probably f**k it up, but give it a try!”
Check out the hilarious video and I guarantee you will be singing the song to yourself the rest of the day.
