Robert Lewandowski confirms Barcelona exit in emotional Instagram post: “Mission complete”

At nearly 38 years old, Robert Lewandowski announced Saturday on Instagram that he is leaving Barcelona after four seasons with the club.

The Polish striker shared an emotional farewell message with fans, saying he departs feeling his job at Barça is complete.

“After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on,” Lewandowski wrote.

“I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. 4 seasons, 3 championships. I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days.

“Catalonia is my place on earth.

“Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years.

“A special thank you to President Laporta for giving me the chance to live the most incredible chapter of my career.

“Barça is back where it belongs.”

Lewandowski’s Barça legacy

Lewandowski arrived at Barcelona in 2022 after a trophy-filled spell with Bayern Munich and quickly became one of the team’s most important figures. He has scored 119 goals in 191 appearances for the club and could yet add to his tally in games against Real Betis (May 17) and Valencia (May 23).

The Pole won three LaLiga titles, three Spanish Super Cups and lifted the Copa del Rey twice in Catalonia.
