Ronaldinho, making fans feel very old with latest news
Big changes ahead for Barcelona’s Brazilian legend, whose legacy continues off the pitch.
Ronaldinho is about to become a grandfather. His 19-year-old son, Joao Mendes, has confirmed the news by announcing on social media that he is expecting a child with influencer Giovanna Buscacio, 25, with whom he has been in a low-profile relationship for a short time. “Sixteen weeks and counting,” the couple shared on their respective Instagram accounts to reveal the happy news.
The post features images of Joao Mendes, formerly part of Barcelona’s youth academy and now playing for Burnley, kissing his partner in the elevator of their Manchester home and resting his hand on the content creator’s belly.
“Mom and Dad, incomplete without you, my love, but we’re already together,” reads a message written in both Spanish and Portuguese.
Mendes expressed his excitement about becoming a father in just a few months, despite his young age.
“I love you so much, my love,” he wrote, showing his enthusiasm for this new chapter. However, few details are known about his relationship with Giovanna Buscacio.
Who is Joao Mendes, Ronaldinho’s son?
Joao Mendes is the only son of the Brazilian legend, born from Ronaldinho’s relationship with Janaina Mendes, a former dancer on a popular Brazilian television program. At just 14 years old, he signed his first contract with Nike while his father was one of the brand’s biggest stars.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Joao joined Cruzeiro’s professional ranks at the age of 13, shortly before moving to Europe with his mother. Upon arriving in Barcelona, he joined the youth team of the Catalan club but eventually left Spain to sign with English side Burnley. His current contract runs until June 30, 2026.
