The weekend match between Tigres and Cruz Azul saw Carlos Vargas suffer a ruptured cruciate ligament in his right knee on his debut for his new club, as reported by the club’s official Twitter account.

Fans and supporters of the club took the opportunity to comment and leave messages of support for the 23-year-old full-back, while others held nothing back and took their anger out on the club’s board for their poor run of form both on and off the pitch.

Changes at Cruz Azul?

Cruz Azul are currently second from bottom in the table with one point and are one of the teams that have yet to win in the Clausura 2023 along with Querétaro and Mazatlán.

There is speculation that ‘Potro’ Gutiérrez’s days as the team’s coach are numbered, and his replacement would be none other than Francisco Palencia.
