Spanish second division side Tenerife have sold Shaq Moore to MLS side Nashville SC for a transfer fee of just over two million euro. The deal sees former club Levante receive around 600,000 euro for the sale of the international by the USA after the side from Valencia originally picked up Moore in 2016 before moving him to the Canary Island side in 2019.

Moore spent for three seasons with Levante UD along with a short-lived stint at Reus on loan after the player from Georgia moved initially to Spain in 2014 with the move to Tenerife ensuring the ‘Granotas’ would keep 30% of a future transfer.

Sights set on Qatar

Moore failed to nail down a constant starting position in the Tenerife side last season as the Canary Islanders missed out on a return to the top flight after a play-off defeat to Girona. Moore now at the age of 25 will hope to impress Gregg Berhalter and earn a place in the US squad ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

“Shaq has all of the positive attributes that we look for on both sides of the ball, as well as on and off the field,” Nashville general manager Mike Jacobs said in a release. “He has the ability to be a key contributor in our group, and we are so pleased to have him join us here in Nashville.”
