Tigres forward Jordy Caicedo is believed to be on the verge of a move to Turkey, although he is also garnering interesting from within the Liga MX.

Sivasspor out to take Caicedo to Süper Lig

According to the Turkish journalist Ertan Süzgün, Süper Lig club Sivasspor are close to agreeing a year-long loan deal for the Ecuadorian.

Caicedo was not registered by Tigres for the Liga MX’s Clausura 2023 tournament, as the seven-time Mexican champions did not have enough foreign-player spots to accommodate the 25-year-old.

League rules state that clubs in Mexico’s top division can have no more than 10 non-homegrown players in their first-team group.

Caicedo has failed to impress since joining Tigres in July 2022, scoring just once in 16 appearances in the Apertura 2022 tournament.

Pumas also eyeing Caicedo

AS México understands that the player, who has been capped 10 times by Ecuador, is also a target for Tigres’ fellow Liga MX club Pumas.

Los Auriazules are looking to fill the squad spot vacated by Dani Alves, whose contract was terminated on Friday following his arrest over an alleged sexual assault at a nightclub in Barcelona.

As things stand, however, Sivasspor are thought to be in pole position to sign Caicedo.
