Taylor Swift set to declare her allegiance to Barcelona over Real Madrid
The pop star is reportedly wanted by FC Barcelona to appear on their shirts during the upcoming Clásico.

Taylor Swift could well be set to turn her back on her recent Madrid love for a sponsorship deal with their eternal rivals as FC Barcelona look to the pop star for a sponsorship deal for the upcoming Clásico, one of maybe three in a month.
FC Barcelona’s financial woes are well documented: high player wages coupled with broken sponsorships and on-field disappointments have seen Barcelona, under Joan Laporta, forced to undertake an historic rebuild in search for money to be able to function at the pinnacle of elite European football.
As such, various sponsorship ideas have been explored by those who roam the corridors of the Spotify Camp Nou, and recently a push toward changing the shirt sponsor for one-off occasions has brought with it many financial rewards.

Taylor Swift to help out with Barcelona’s financial woes
Over the past few seasons, we’ve seen Drake, Rosalía, Karol G, The Rolling Stones and Coldplay all splash their logo on the blaugrana shirt for El Clásico, replacing the usual Spotify branding since 2022. These shirts have sold at incredibly high prices and been hugely popular with fans across the world, as well as presumably bringing in a lot of money with the deal itself.
This time around, it appears that Swift, who is not long after finishing her Eras Tour and made $103 million in royalties from Spotify last year, is the prime candidate to be the next name to be worn in the Spanish clash. According to information from local radio station RAC1, Swift is wanted by the club to be on the shirt for the Clásico which will take place in early May. The report suggests that Ed Sheeran and Travis Scott are two other options the Catalan club are weighing up. Mundo Deportivo inform however that the deal to bring in Swift is indeed in the latter stages.

The news of Swift on the red and blue shirt might come as something of a surprise to Real Madrid fans, who were in their typically huge numbers when Taylor Swift played two consecutive nights at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu last year. The artist was wowed by the Madrid crowd and the stadium as a whole, with fans in the capital equally as enamoured of their idol as she performed for over 6 hours in total across the two nights. Will Swift show up at El Clásico? Will she declare herself a culé, or has the Madridista bug already got to her? Who knows...
