The juicy offer that Tottenham Hotspur may make to Feyenoord for Santiago Giménez
The Premier League outfit are said to be preparing an offer for the Mexican striker.
Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have placed Mexican forward Santiago Giménez in their sights as a possible replacement for Harry Kane, should he leave the club.
Giménez comes off the back of winning the Gold Cup with Mexico, and was a key part in the final, scoring the winning goal. He added that trophy to a fantastic domestic campaign for Feyenoord in The Netherlands, in which he scored 23 goals in 45 games.
How much would Spurs pay for Giménez?
Such performances across the season have led to the Premier League side to look into the possibility of bringing him to London. Jovenes Futbolistas MX, a media outlet dedicated to analysing the young Mexican talent in football, say there is a high chance that Spurs put their hands in their pockets and dig deep to find the cash to bring Giménez to the club.
The source comments that Ange Postecoglou’s side are preparing an opening bid worth €40 million and that Feyenoord value the player at €50 million. They also say that the English club met with the player’s agent a few weeks ago. This is not the first time the 22-year-old has been linked with a move to England, after reports emerged in April saying that teams such as West Ham, Brighton, Brentford and now-relegated Leicester City were all interested.
Are Spurs finally selling Harry Kane?
Is Mario ever going to save Princess Peach? There are innumerable never-ending questions that exist in the world and Spurs selling Kane seems to be one of them. It feels like every year the club’s top scorer is linked with a move away and every year Daniel Levy, the Spurs chairman, puts a price tag on Kane’s shirt the size of a medium-to-large meteorite.
Now, however, it seems that Bayern Munich have realised that a striker is needed to replace Robert Lewandowski and Kane seems to be the man they want. Time will tell if he stays or goes, but if he does pack his bags for the Bundesliga, the dominoes will certainly start to fall around Europe.
